Heavy tank KV-1 was first domestic heavy tank having one-turret layout. In 1941 the tank was let out from 76.2mm by a ZiS-5 gun with an ammunition load in 144 outrigger booms and armor protection of a body reinforced padding 25mm screens. The early version of KV-1 model 1941 is characterized by the welded turret with a ZiS-5 gun and course and fodder machine guns DT 7.62mm. In 1940-1942 about 4800 tanks KV of different modifications were produced. The KV tanks were widely used in combats of an initial stage of WWII.
